Calderón's problem for p-laplace type equations

We investigate a generalization of Calderón’s problem of recovering the conductivity coefficient in a conductivity equation from boundary measurements. As a model equation we consider the p-conductivity equation div σ |∇u|p−2 ∇u = 0 with 1 < p < ∞, which reduces to the standard conductivity equation when p = 2. The thesis consists of results on the direct problem, boundary determination and detecting inclusions. We formulate the equation as a variational problem also when the conductivity σ may be zero or infinity in large sets. Abstract Experimental work and theoretical models deduce a “digital” response of the p53 transcription factor when genomic integrity is damaged. The mutual influence of p53 and its antagonist, the Mdm2 oncogene, is closed in a feedback. Open-source QCD analysis of nuclear parton distribution functions at NLO and NNLO

We present new sets of nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) at next-to-leading order (NLO) and next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO). Our analyses are based on deeply inelastic scattering data with charged-lepton and neutrino beams on nuclear targets. In addition, a set of proton baseline PDFs is fitted within the same framework with the same theoretical assumptions. The results of this global QCD analysis are compared to existing nPDF sets and to the fitted cross sections. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää millaisia käsityksiä ruotsinopettajaksi opiskelevilla on hyvästä ruotsinopettajasta ja ruotsinopettajan ammatista. Tutkimuksessa vertailtiin ensimmäisen ja viidennen vuoden ruotsinopiskelijoiden käsityksiä, ja tavoitteena oli tutkia eroavatko heidän käsityksensä toisistaan. Tämän lisäksi selvitettiin, ovatko opettajan pedagogiset opinnot vaikuttaneet viidennen vuoden opiskelijoiden käsityksiin hyvästä ruotsin opettajasta ja ruotsin opettajan työstä. Nuorten peliohjelmointi

Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa tutkitaan yläkouluikäisille (13 16-vuotiaat) tarkoitetun peliohjelmoinnin lyhytkurssin innostavuutta, ja vaikutuksia osallistujien suhtautumiseen luonnontieteiden opiskeluun. Osallistujien kurssikokemuksiin pyrittiin löytämään yhteyksiä taustatekijöistä. Lisäksi aineistosta etsittiin ryhmiä, jotka kuvaisivat tyypillisiä kurssille tulleita oppilaita. Tämän avulla on tarkoitus kehittää kurssin sisältöä, opetusmenetelmiä ja markkinointia. Tässä työssä esitellään myös pääpiirteet kurssin suunnittelusta ja toteutuksesta, ja lisäksi joitakin oppilaiden valmiista pelituotoksista ja pelisuunnitelmista.

Testing for Lynch Syndrome in Endometrial Carcinoma: From Universal to Age-Selective MLH1 Methylation Analysis

Simple Summary International guidelines recommend universal screening of endometrial carcinoma patients for Lynch syndrome, a hereditary cancer predisposition syndrome. Screening is based on mismatch repair protein immunohistochemistry and reflex MLH1 methylation analysis to exclude the likely sporadic cases of MMR deficiency. As sporadic MLH1 protein loss is common in endometrial carcinoma, the ability to target methylation testing would save efforts and costs.
